Dr. Ioannis Kasoulides
Chairman of Strategy Council
Former Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus
Dr. Kasoulides, has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1997 until 2003 with President Glafcos Clerides, and again from 2013 to March 1, 2018, under President Nicos Anastasiades. In 2003, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kasoulides oversaw Cyprus’ EU integration process. He was a member of the Cyprus House of Representatives, Cyprus Government spokesman, and Member of the European Parliament from 2004 until 2013, and held various European Parliament committee positions, including as the head of the Foreign Affairs Working group.
Ioannis Kasoulides is the recipient of a number of honours, including Commander of the Order of the Phoenix of the Hellenic Republic, Commander of the Order of Merit of the Hellenic Republic, and Commander of the Order of Xirka of Malta.

Former Transport and Communications Minister
Former Transport and Communications Minister Marios Demetriades joined the EuroAsia Interconnector Strategic Council as a board member in December 2018.
From 2014 to 2018, Demetriades oversaw the transition of the Transport Ministry to one of the biggest contributors to the economy, undertaking reforms in air transport and overseeing major projects such as the commercialisation of Limassol Port, transformation of the Department of Merchant Shipping to the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and large-scale public infrastructure development projects.
During his term in office in President Nicos Anastasiades’ first administration, Demetriades supervised tax reforms and other initiatives that bolstered the international image of the maritime sector that now boasts one of the leading merchant shipping fleets in the world and a leading ship-management cluster.
Marios Demetriades was born in Paphos in 1971 and was educated at the University of East Anglia in Business, Finance and Economics in 1993. He worked at international advisory firms BDO and Ernst & Young, and held various managerial positions at Laiki Bank Group and subsequently at Piraeus Bank (Cyprus). He is a member of the CFA Institute (Chartered Financial Analyst), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (Chartered Accountant) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He is married to Maria and they have two children.
Overall Project Director of the EuroAsia Interconnector, which has been designated by the European Union as the official Project Promoter of the electrical interconnection EuroAsia Interconnector.
George is CEO of Quantum Corporation and Quantum Energy, which, since 2000 focuses on investments in the energy sector in Southeast Europe through strategic investments in five hydroelectric and thermal electric power stations.

Neoclis Nicolaou, Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Development Bank and Board Member and Chairman of the Budget Committee at EuroAsia Interconnector Strategic Council.
Neoclis Nicolaou was born in Larnaca in 1959 and has an MBA from Manchester Business School. He is a recipient of the W.J. Thomas Award for Economics and the Cobden Prize for work in Econometrics. He has extensive experience in investment management, capital raising, project and investment finance, financial engineering, valuations, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and has acted as an expert advisor on governmental projects. More recently, he was instrumental and played a key role in the only two privatisations in Cyprus, namely the CDB and the Limassol Port.
Neoclis is married and has three children, and in his free time he is a Champion of Historic Car Rallies and a multinstrumentalist.

Born 14th October 1936, in Larnaca, Cyprus. Attended United Nations for Foreign Service Officers in Geneva and New York. Served at Foreign Ministry as Secretary B / Vice-Consul, then as First Secretary / Consul and Counsellor B / Consul General. Also served in the Cyprus Embassy in Athens as Counsellor.
Served at the Presidential Palace as Director of the President’s Office for thirty two years. Accompanied Presidents Archbishop Makarios, Spyros Kyprianou, Glafkos Clerides and George Vassiliou on various missions and conferences abroad.
Member of the Board of Directors of Quantum Corporation and of the Commercial Bank of Greece (Cyprus).
Honours: Grand Commander of the Order of Merit of Greece and Grand Cross of the Civil Merit of Spain.

Nasos Ktorides is a solid exponent of the belief, “if you can dream it then you can achieve it”.
From an early age, he manifested his independence in what is achievable. He attempts to take the roads less travelled, without being confined to tried and tested solutions or secure boundaries.
Marios Efthyvoulou was born in 1977 in Limassol, Cyprus. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science, a Mechanical Engineering degree and he is a member of the Cyprus Association of Actuaries since 2004. He joined EuroAsia Interconnector in 2014 as a director, managing the procurement of the studies according to the EU regulations and in turns with the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency. He is also the assigned Project Manager for the execution of the studies.
Dr Drazen Vorkapic
Dr Drazen Vorkapic was born in 1962 in Yugoslavia. He completed his Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 1990 at the University of Zagreb where he worked from 1986 to 1991. He then worked for 10 years as a senior research associate at the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Belgrade. In 2001, Dr Drazen joined the Quantum Corporation Group, originally in Serbia and later on in Cyprus. Since 2017, he is holding the position of the Development Director of EuroAsia Interconnector. Dr. Drazen has published many articles in well-respected international physics journals throughout the years.
Masis der Parthogh
Media and Communications Director
Joined the EuroAsia Interconnector in 2016 and since May 2017 is Director of Media and Communications. A veteran journalist since 1983, Masis is a newspaper publisher.
